I waited for a long time to leave a review of Cremation Direct. The reason for this is I have never before had to be the go-to person for dealing with a death in the family. I was more than overwhelmed, and after dealing with the death of my 101-year-old grandmother I wanted to take a long time to think about how I was treated by Cremation Direct. I do not want to leave a review that gives anyone the impression that I was writing anything based on emotion only. When dealing with the very nature of the funeral services industry, I think it is difficult to get all of the emotion out of a review, so I wanted to let a lot of time pass before I attempted a review. I think the expression "time heals all wounds" applies here. I want to leave a review that involves a lot of careful thought and evaluation and not have my emotions get in the way, due to the serious and solemn nature of properly dealing with a death of a loved one. I think I have accomplished this in my following evaluation…. Patrick and his staff at Cremation Direct were kind and sensitive at a very sad and difficult time. This characteristic is an absolute necessity in any type of funeral services business, but I think the people at Cremation Direct did this with astute professionalism combined with clear and plain language communication with their clients. I also never got the impression I was being talked down to or their sympathies for our family situation were contrived. I felt genuine empathy and concern on their part for the death of my grandmother. I feel that Cremation Direct’s pricing for their services is very reasonable. The cremation package is budget-minded, but I still received professional courtesies one would expect through a funeral service. There is a package that includes a service by Cremation Direct to send documentation to government bureaucracies and other institutions like banks and insurance companies to officially announce the passing of my grandmother. This package was very helpful, especially when I had so many other things to do at a very stressful time. This package was also inexpensive and effective in getting government bureaucracies and other institutions to officially recognize my grandmother’s passing in order to start the process of transferring property to the rightful beneficiaries of my grandmother’s estate. Regarding the choosing of an appropriate urn and keepsakes for my grandmother’s ashes, I was given a lot of time to choose what the family felt was right for my grandmother. Both care and attention were given by Patrick as to the style of the urn and the matching keepsakes, as well as the etching on these items. Patrick and I exchanged e-mail messages with images showing exactly where we wanted to place the lettering and numbering on the urn and the keepsakes, with all the details being considered like the size and spacing of the letter and numbers. This gave my family total control over all decisions regarding how the urn and keepsakes would look, and the time was given by Cremation Direct to get the urn made right the first time. If this sounds like I am completely happy with Cremation Direct, you would be correct. I was helped every step of the way by the staff at Cremation Direct, especially by Patrick. I had quick and efficient communication with Cremation Direct, no matter if it was by e-mail or by telephone. I recommend Cremation Direct without reservation, even if you are not on a budget.

Cremation Direct Edmonton location has been absolutely amazing to my family and I, we recently lost my mother and had no idea how I was going to afford a Cremation for her as Cremations generally cost a fortune , but they helped me find all resources that helped, this place was a blessing to us incredibly affordable and Evangeline who was my coordinator was so thoughtful and helpful and incredibly professional, I could never thank her enough! I contacted Cremation Direct when my mother passed away last month. I spoke to Vangie who took all the details over the phone and then set up a meeting at a convenient time for me. Vangie was so kind when I met with her. She explained everything so well and everything was taken care of professionally and on a timely basis. Vangie also took care of all the paperwork to stop my mother's benefits and apply for the CPP death benefit. At a time when you're grieving and can barely think, it was so reassuring to know these matters were being taken care of. I highly recommend Cremation Direct.

Our daughter recently passed away and her wish was to be be cremated. This was my first time dealing with something like this. I called a couple of places that didn’t feel right, then I spoke with Crystal at Cremation Direct. I knew I had found the right place when she said “when we receive her into our care.” The rest of the time I dealt with Vangie. She was so kind and compassionate and patient and caring. She guided me gently through the whole process. She answered my many questions with so much grace. Vangie replied to all my calls, emails and texts right away. I highly recommend Cremation Direct. They are very knowledgeable and so helpful. The cost is also very reasonable. This is the most difficult thing I have ever had to deal with, and I am so grateful to have found this company and especially Vangie, to help make it a little bit easier. Thank you .

Losing a loved one is one of the hardest journeys I have ever had to walk through. Being the executor makes it that much more difficult. Having the support, direction and advice I received from Cremation direct was hands down a saving grace. Their staff are warm and welcoming and truly do help during this process. I highly recommend using them should the unfortunate circumstance be put upon you.

We wanted a no-nonsense and professional cremation service and Patrick exceeded our expectations. Everything was smooth, the price is very reasonable and just as quoted with no pressure to sign up for other add-ons (though I think the doc package is well worth it). One complication is with COVID, it was hard for us to travel to the city but Patrick didn't miss a beat and handled everything with email/docusign/phone calls and even arranged to transport the remains to a funeral home near me for pick up. Highly recommended.

The staff was so comforting and understanding as i had lost my daughter recently and they made this process as easy and smooth as possible. In a time of grief and uncertainty, Patrick made the process simple, painless and brief. All the details were handled efficiently, but with a respectful and caring demeanor. The cost was significantly less than what would have been charged elsewhere and we felt that all our needs were taken care of. It's ironic that more expensive funeral homes insisted in selling me services I didn't need. I hope I never have to use their services again, but if I did I wouldn't hesitate to return. My mom passed away on February 10. I called around for pricing and found cremation direct. Mom didn’t want a service or anything fancy. I was quoted between $4000 and $5500 at other funeral homes. Cremation Direct was just over $1000. This is for the exact same service the others were offering. Patrick did all the paperwork for mom with revenue Canada. I received multiple death certificates for our use. I would definitely recommend Cremation Direct. I know if it was me I would want my family to get a fair price and use the difference in costs to spend the money on something they would want.

Our son passed away on Christmas morning and we were heart broken. As our family has always had Hainstocks help us with funerals it was the first phone call we made .The gentleman I was talking to suggested we call Patrick at Cremations Direct as we only planned for cremation of our Son Patrick was such a kind man who helped us with all the arrangements. He made us feel important .It was so nice to have someone who did not rush us and he was able to answers all the many questions that needed to be answered. I had no worries, my mother-in-law was well taken care of and I trusted the person I was working with. I have worked with Sheena before when my husband passed away three years ago and I can't think of any one else that I would rather deal with. Thank you all so so much! You kept me in the loop, you picked my mom up right away and the paperwork/process was so easy. No sales pitch! Just the basics which is what I asked for. My step father was so impressed, he lives out of town and would like his cremation to be through you!!!! That says a lot.

Requiring the services from such a company is never what one hopes to need, and as my family and I learned throughout the last few weeks many organizations around Edmonton do not make dealing with the death of a loved one easy. Luckily for us however, Cremation Direct was the one place throughout this horrible time, where every decision, task, procedure, and phone call was easy, pleasant and calm. I strongly recommend to any Edmonton family, to reach out to Patrick at Cremation Direct, if you are requiring cremation services for a loved one. You and all of your family will feel supported and cared for during what could very well be the hardest time of your life.

My grandmother passed away very unexpectedly and having never dealt with making final arrangements for anyone, I was very overwhelmed. From the first time I spoke to Patrick, he made everything so seamless and easy. He was so patient with answering all the many questions I had for him and was so helpful throughout the entire process. From a cost perspective, everything was VERY reasonably priced (the lowest of all the places I contacted) and everything was right on time, as promised. Overall, I would highly recommend Patrick and Cremation Direct to everyone!

I would highly recommend Cremations Direct if a simple burial or other is the plan of choice. Patrick was very professional and helpful with providing all the recommended notifications required for an Executrix to attend to in these circumstances. He was helpful to explain and answer questions; he even replied to a non-urgent text in the late evening hours. This business was reliable and cost-effective. In comparison, funeral homes charge an outrageous fee. Gov’t forms are easily located on-line and banks attend to Equifax notifications while funeral homes make you feel these are a daunting task. Order your Urns on Amazon and save thousands.

I would highly recommend Cremation Direct. I found their staff to be very professional. They were so helpful all the way through what is a very difficult and emotional process. I had been dealing with another funeral home that I felt was gouging and switched to Cremation Direct who completed the same arrangements at one third of the cost. I was extremely satisfied in all my dealings with this company.

I'm from Quebec , Montreal, my brother died in July 2022, he had no papers done on is wish ,nothing! I didn't know what to do, we are not rich people ...Another place gave me the number of Cremation direct...wow , my English isn't that good but an angel name Evangeline was helpful, compassion, She took time to listen to me and all my worries. They cremate my brother and send him back to us. She answered to all of my emails (and believe there was a lot)). It's very nice that a place like yours exist, the price is very affordable whit out you I think that my brother would still be in Edmonton alone...
