Cameron Gordon Pike

Cameron “Cam” Pike of Cold Lake, Alberta, passed away on August 13, 2025, after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Montreal, Quebec, Cam lived life with energy, humor, and an unstoppable love for family, friends, and the things he cherished most. You could always find him with a medium regular Tim’s coffee in hand, a leather jacket on his back, a grin on his face, and a head of hair that could make anyone jealous. Cam joined the military in 1981 and was posted to Cold Lake, AB, in 1996, retiring in 2004. Always eager to grow and learn, he earned his 4th Class Power Engineering certification at Portage College in Lac La Biche in 2006. Cam drove taxi in Cold Lake starting in 1997 and went on to become the owner and operator of Camms Taxi in 2014, where he was a familiar and friendly presence in the community. A devoted father, brother, uncle, and friend, Cam’s passions were clear: family, lacrosse, and cars. He was a driving force behind his family’s lacrosse team—cheering from the stands, coaching in the dressing room, and making sure everyone got to practice safely. Cars, from classic Pontiacs to lifted trucks, were always a part of his life, and his three cats—Stewie, Kalie, and Sophie Boy—brought companionship and comfort. Cam is survived by his son, Liam Pike (Aspen Hamnet); Liam’s mother, Shaylene Burlaka, and her other children, Zylarr and Rowan Burlaka; his brothers, Neil and Lindsay Pike; nieces, Makenna and Jordie Pike, Heather and Shannon Pike; and countless friends who loved him dearly. He was predeceased by his parents, Marlene Pike and Gordon Pike. Cam’s infectious smile, generosity, and quick sense of humor left a mark on everyone who knew him. Always ready with a helping hand, a kind word, or a laugh that could fill a room, he lived fully and loved deeply. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth, humor, and dedication that will continue to inspire all who were lucky enough to know him. Cam had so much genuine love for all those around him. If he made an effort to see you, or to pick up the phone and call, you knew that he loved you. A final message from Cam to all those he loved: “Fuqn eh, bro!!!!”
